A key part of its commitment to the community is its long-standing support for young women through the Young Woman of the Year Competition. Held annually for more than 60 years, this competition recognises and celebrates the ambition, confidence, knowledge, and community spirit of young women. Entrants are judged on personality, presentation, public speaking, and volunteering history qualities that reflect leadership and a passion for rural life and agriculture. Each year, one young woman is selected to represent the Camden district at the zone level, with the opportunity to progress to the state finals. Through this experience, all participants gain valuable personal and professional development and become ambassadors for their community and the agricultural industry. The Camden Show Society congratulates all who enter, recognising their courage to aim high and follow their dreams. Every participant leaves the competition with new skills, connections, and confidence, and wishes them every success in the future.
