4. Animal Wranglers
A Horsemanship exhibition which turns into an hilarious sequence of organised chaos!
These shows can include a horsemanship demonstration on how to get your horse working with you and gain it’s trust, trick horses and mules, performing dogs, ducks, pigs, bullocks and lots of comedy and laughs supplied by Bazza the clown. The latest additions to their Show include Whipstick, the ‘non-equine’ horse who delights the crowd with his many antics, and Macca the shy stable hand, who is trying to ease his way into the show. Bazza the clown has also added a new element to the show, Jet, a cross between an Australian stockhorse and a Holden brumby ute. Barney the Brahman and Lachie attempt to keep Bazza and Jet from causing too much trouble, which needs to be seen to be believed.

5. Duck Muster
Mac the boarder Collie gently musters ducks (dressed in different colours) into two separate yards. Six ducks are dressed in Red and Six Ducks are dressed in other colours. Mac musters the ducks dressed in Red into one yard and the other ducks into another yard. How clever is Mac!

6. Jousting - with a difference - Knightriders – on Quad Bikes
World renowned Joust Troupe Full Tilt is proud to announce its latest exciting arena entertainment show.
Full Tilt KnightRiders is an action packed 15 minute show featuring our daring Post-Apocalyptic Knights engaging in fierce battle for the title of Champion.
Blending the ancient and the modern our knights are armoured in the latest high-tech plastics and alloys tech plastics and alloys mixed with leather and brass.
Mounted upon custom armoured motocross bikes and quads and armed with lances, swords and warhammers our knights will thrill the crowds with a show unlike any they have seen before.
Wheeling, charging and jumping at high speed, our quad mounted knights strike with lances trying to dismount their opponent. Some strikes are so hard the quads wheelie from the impact.
Once all lances are broken the knights will then go to hand weapons until they have struck the other from his machine.
During this our bike mounted knights attempt to run interference and protect their team member.
An exciting addition for 2012 is the deadly Fire Jump performed by Captain Furious.

7. Battle of The Schools Talent Quest
Anything goes in this great new competition small school groups or individuals, large groups or duos, whether it be drama, magic, singing, musicians, dance, rap or a mixture. They will be judged by a panel of sponsors to find out who wins the Best Performance and Best Schools Presentation.

8. Giant Pumpkin Growing Competition
Giant Pumpkin Seeds were sold in October to raise money for the Sarah Hilt Foundation. Lots of friendly competition between the entrants & some growing secrets!

9. Roving Rangers
Roving Rangers provide a fun and exciting hands on educational experience. It features a variety of creepy crawly creatures from ants to carnivorous antlions, friendly stick insects and cockroaches to terrifying tarantulas and Scary Scorpions. We wander your event interacting with kids of all ages, we grab attention with our giant stick insects balancing on our heads as we walk. There will be loads of free photo opportunities for your visitors and we have stacks of creepy creature prizes for the kids like insect lollipops, mealworm chocolate chip cookies and chocolate coated bugs made with REAL bugs.
We are one of the most affordable wildlife outreach providers available.

10. Farmer Scott
The aim of “Farmer Scott” is to introduce people living in the city and urban fringes to farming life and has been designed with assistance with professional educators. Farmer Scott is based on 20 years experience of running a wheat, sheep and cattle farm in north west NSW.
Presentations will be 15 minutes in duration covering four (4) topics; Living on a Farm, Sustainability, Where Does our Food Come From, and Life of a Sheep/Cow. The recommendation is for the presentations to commence at 10:30am and will be on 15 minute rotation (ie.15 minutes between each presentation) giving 2 presentation per hour with the last presentation at 5pm; a total of 13 presentations per day.

1. Mobile Laser Skirmish
What is “Mobile Laser Skirmish”? : The Operations
Our Mobile Laser Skirmish operator sets up in designated area with the battlefield inflatables/barricades. Safety rules are dispayed/explained and the operator will explain the correct use of the Laser Taggers. Players are fitted with the hat/sensors, & receive their activated taggers. They are sent to their nominated area in the competition zone where the contest will commence. The operator will act as Referee to start, observe & run the various laser skirmish games. There are various game scenarios we run to suit different groups & ages. For a fete or public event we usually allow 10min – 15min turns for each participant.

Grand Parade
The Grand Parade will commence at 4.45 pm on Saturday, prior to the Official Opening. Numerous Horse drawn vehicles including the famous Belgenny Wool Wagon, a replica Cobb and Co. Coach, a Road Steam Engine, a Light Horse Mounted Troop, Tent Peggers, and following on veteran and vintage cars, tractors, commercials and trucks and then leading into more modern vehicles.

The octane adrenalin will be pumping both on and off the track at the

Highlights of the V6 HiLux Heroes performance in the main arena include a stunt in which the
driver balances the virtually standard HiLux on two wheels and another featuring a 12m rampto-
ramp jump. Other stunts include drifting, nose-to-nose driving, reverse hand break turn flicks,
a range of vehicle jumping displays and high speed crossovers – where four of the vehicles
drive towards each other in an X formation.

Tent pegging is a horse sport that is fun, fast and spectacular where teams
mounted horseman riding at a gallop use a lance to pierce, pickup and carry a small ground target, symbolically a tent peg, and carry it to the finish line to present it to the judges.

Camel Racing is Back!
Yes, the Camels are back for the fourth year running by popular demand! Once Again the thunder of hooves will be heard as the barrier opens and camels race down the track. They might not be horses, but this one-humped animal will be taking centre stage in the main arena on the Friday and Saturday of the Camden Show Who will be this year’s Champion Camel Racer? Find out on Saturday night when the finals are held for the Camel Racing. Keep an eye out in the main arena and on your programme for the heats leading up to the finals. A must see!

Thiess Services Wheelie Bin Relay Race
Get your team together and start practicing for this year’s Thiess Services Wheelie Bin Relay Races! Both Junior and Open heats will be held and teams are open to all, each team, with wheelie-bin in tow; will compete in a running relay event covering 4 X 100 metres. Get a group of 4 workmates, team mates or just mates together and get into the challenge to become the 2012 Wheelie Bin Champions! The Camden Show Friday Night Rodeo is back again this year, bigger and better than before. It is one of the finest rodeo competitions on the Australian circuit with 200 riders expected to take part. The contestants and the crowd come from far and wide to be part of this great event with all the thrills and spills of this highly regarded event on the rodeo circuit which has become a huge draw card for the show. Be sure not to miss it ~ the events include Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Barrel Race, Roping, Bull rides, Saddle Broncs and Bareback. Duck Fashion Show
‘Fashion of the Fields Parade’, will see feathered models waddle their way down the catwalk adorned in the latest fashion trends and hats. The Duck Show will also be showcasing, the Duck Muster with ‘Mac’ the Border Collie mustering ducks with different coloured outfits into different pens. A real treat for an audience of all ages.
The Famous Ducks
The ducks have their own dressmaker who individually styles each costume to a theme or era. we have covered day wear, evening wear, bridal wear, race day attire, ‘Dryzabone’ and even a Jane McGrath Foundation inspired gown. They are currently showcasing costumes from the 1800’s era as well as favourites from the past.
The ducks showcase some ‘high-end’ fashion made from the best materials, by designer dressmakers. Everything from bridal wear to evening gowns to era specific costumes are covered in brilliant detail, colour and fabrics.

Poets Smoko
As a special feature for 2012, we would like to introduce a Poet’s Smoko. This will be held in the “History and Education Area” beside the Drovers Camp. Dennis “Dingo” Dryden will be the MC and co-ordinate the event. Patrons of the Show are invited to perform “walk up” poems on Saturday 24th March at 10.30 am. Original Poems must keep introductions to a minimum. Recitals a maximum of 10 verses. Prizes available and there will be an MC’s Choice Award for the best Poem. Sheep Dog Trials and Shearing Exhibition
This year in the Presidents Common will be conducting dog sheep yards trial and sheep shearing demonstrations Demonstrations will include sheep shearing, how wool is classed and prepared for sale and talks about the wool industry – a fundamental pioneering industry of Camden’s rural history!

In 2010, 2011 and again in 2012 the Camden Show Society has put a much bigger emphasis on Youth and School involvement in Agriculture by providing a first class interactive education program for schools and young people and their families. The Society believes that the future of youth in Agriculture comes from involvement, participation, contribution and enthusiasm. The educational program of Camden Show aims to deliver students and families an experience of agriculture as well as provide the opportunity for schools to showcase the talents of their students through various avenues. The Commitment of the Show Society is evidenced by the continuation of the following competitions: Farm Discovery Trail, Young Farmers Challenge, Paddock to Plate, Junior Rural Ambassador Program which are described below.
The Camden Show educational program is a great opportunity for your students to have some ‘hands-on’ experience in the largest single community event on the Macarthur calendar.
Paddock to Plate
Paddock to Plate was a new concept in 2010 and its success has enabled it to become a regular feature. Local high schools will be providing educational displays to demonstrate the production chain for a series of agricultural products. Find out how food and clothing products get from the farm gate to your plate! A number of interactive activities and demonstrations will be running in conjunction with the Paddock to Plate Displays tent.

Farm Discovery Trail
Pick up your Camden Show Passport and follow the Farm Discovery Trail to learn more about the Show and agriculture in the local area. The Trail will include a series of stations around the show where information can be collected, the passport is then stamped. Complete the Passport and receive a prize and a Camden Show certificate! Young Farmers Challenge is a fast-paced and visually exciting competition which will showcase the skills, equipment and techniques farmers use everyday through a set of practical field activities. The competition is open to 15-30 year old males and females in teams of four.

Drovers Camp
Hosted by Vic Boardman, our longest standing current committee member. The Drovers Camp has been at the Show every year since its inception at the Centenary Show in 1986. Vic and his mates spend the entire show cooking dampers and making Billy tea for thousands of Show goers these loyalists are committed in giving the younger generation a taste of traditional Australian bush fare while demonstrating bush cooking and chatting about early Australian life. Over 3000 children pass through the Drovers Camp each year with school visits and family.

Combined Emergency Services interactive Display
A must see for people of all ages as it may one day save a life - the Combined Emergency Services will demonstrate how they deal with accidents and emergencies that may happen to anyone. 2012 for the second time the Combined Emergency Services consisting of Police, NSW Fire Brigade, Rural Fire Brigade, Ambulance and SES will have a mega interactive display. This is a must to see and will be situated in the Presidents Common on both days of the Show

Woodchop
The Camden 2012 Woodchop, which takes place in the Woodchop Arena, will once again feature some of the country's best axemen.
As always there will be a junior and senior category - both events are worth seeing. Saturday, April 24th is when the competition starts and it happens from 9am until 5pm and includes the 250mm NSW Standing Block Championship and 300mm Underhand NSW Championship. Burly axe men will be flexing their muscles – its action packed excitement at its best.

Hall - Pavilion Exhibits and Competition - All ages show their talents
The Pavilion Exhibits in the Camden Show Hall on Argyle are a must see for all Camden Show visitors as it is the quintessential of any country show.
As every year there are hundreds and hundreds of exhibits, from local schools through to the regular and long-time exhibitors.
The items on display are an example of the talent around the district and a fun way for everybody to be a part of the Show. This year’s event also includes a cake baking section - which is only open to men - of course they must bake a chocolate cake.
Other exhibits in the pavilion include: Flowers and Pot Plants: Needlework; Arts and Crafts; Photography; Jams, Preserves and Honey; Cooking; and Cake Decorating. These competitions are available in Open, Youth AND Juvenile Classes. We really encourage school classes to enter into the juvenile section. A new “schools application form is available this year!

UTE SHOW
Ute Show - From the classic to the feral
Rev heads can have their day at the Camden Show in the popular Ute Show - where there will be 10 different categories to enter.
Up to 100 competitors will be judged to determine the finest Rural Ute, Chick's Ute, 4X4, Feral Ute, B&S Ute, Town/Street Ute, Work Ute, Unique Ute and Classic Ute. There will also be a category for the loudest exhaust.
If you want to see the Utes, or perhaps enter your own, head down to the Sheep Dog Paddock off the end of Exeter Street entries from 10.00 am on Saturday, March24th. Judging starts at 12.30pm. There is a limit of 100 entries across all categories so get there early to make sure you get in - as they say first come, first served.

ANNUAL LIVESTOCK EVENTS
Show Jumping
While 2011 entry levels were at record and 2012 promises to be even better. With over $6000 prize money and product up for grabs, we will be ensured great competitors and excellent competition. Competitors from all the Eastern States regularly attend the show - Vicki Roycroft, Andrew Inglis and Colleen Brook - are three riders in particular who have represented Australia at International and Olympic events.
John Vallance and his team are once again building the show jumping course - John is a World Class course builder who travels the globe to build Show Jumping courses.

Dairy Cattle
The dairy cattle section at Camden Show has been one of the strongest showings of Dairy Cattle in the NSW in recent years. We are one of the few shows to have all six breeds of dairy cattle competing at our Annual Show. Total Dairy numbers exhibiting is around 120. A very competitive interbreed competition is held after breed judging. A very enthusiastic group of Schools and School age students enter into the Junior Paraders Competition on the Friday the afternoon.

Beef Cattle
In the beef cattle show in the Saturday line-up of the Camden Show, there are numerous breeds that will be judged - the trade cattle for the local market, as well as stud stock for future breeders in both commercial herds as well as within pedigree stud herds.
There is considerable prestige to win breed classes, as well as the interbreed competitions for championship ribbons - all competitors with animals are vying for the ultimate title of Junior Champion to Supreme Champion Bull and Supreme Champion Female.
Exhibits prepared by students of agriculture departments of local high schools will also be featured. These include both commercial trade exhibits as well as stud animals. The students will feed, prepare and train the animals for show. There is also a Junior Parader Competition, which has proved to be very popular for the local youngsters - it is in a way a growth centre for future workers and producers in the beef cattle industry. Poultry - Fowls of all descriptions
The Poultry Pavilion is one of the best-visited displays at the Camden Show and exhibitors are just flocking to show off their fowl. The 2010 Camden Show saw the biggest entries ever! It was one of the biggest Poultry sections at an Agricultural Show in

Farm Produce, Vegetables, Fruit and Pasture Competitions
The Fruit and vegetables display and competition is held in the Poultry Pavilion. This is a must to see with numerous local producers showing their talent. Whether it will be 4 stalks of maize, a pumpkin, a dozen granny smith apples or a bale of hay its all worth a look! To compliment this, there is also a District Exhibit which is a must to see in the Show Hall. NEW THIS YEAR an Olive produce competition with local producers doing their thing!

Alpacas Saturday 23rd March
The alpaca competition, staged on the Saturday, has continued to be a success at the Camden Show and it is now an annual event. In previous years up to 160 animals have been entered and the alpaca tent should once again prove to be quite a spectacle and a must see part of the Show.
Alpaca are bred for their fleece, which is widely used in fashion garments. The fibre is strong, light and very smooth, enabling the production of very warm, light and supple clothing for luxury fashion garments and knitwear.

The alpaca exhibit at the Camden Show happens on Saturday April 9th and will be run in conjunction with the Australian Alpaca Association Sydney, Coast and Highlands Region.

Sheep Dog Trail
Collies and Kelpies will taking centre stage in the Sheep Dog Arena at the Camden Show where show goers will be able to see these animals do what they were bred to do - herd sheep. The organisers and competitors of this event, are looking forward to showing off the skills of these working dogs to the public. Cat Exhibition
The Camden Show Cat Exhibition gives the public the opportunity to see a number of different breeds and domestic cats on the Saturday of the Show. Although not large, it allows people to interact closely with the cats and the breeders in an intimate atmosphere and to also highlight the work of the Animal Welfare League in looking after the needs of all animals.

... a wonderful insight into the history of the Camden Show
Neville Clissold has been hard at work, interviewing, reading old newspapers and articles, going
through old photos and visiting many of the people that have been a part of the Camden Show
to gather stories, information, photos and memorabilia that provides an insight to how the show
has progressed since 1886 and what the show means to many local people. The book will be on sale prior to the show and also at the show and is a great keepsake. Ideal gift for family and friends.

Summary
The Camden Show showcases all types animal exhibits including Dairy, Beef and Trade Cattle classes, Poultry; Goats; Alpacas, Championship Dog Show and Cat exhibition and of course a very strong Horse Section, ranging from Miniature and Heavy Horse classes to Breed classes, Hacks and Riding Classes, Stock Horse and sporting events as well as Show Jumping showcasing some of the Nation’s top riders.
There will also be the ever popular art, craft, cookery, jams, needlework, photography and flora displays – everyone can enter, from school children to seniors. “The 2011 entries in some of these categories were the best that’s ever been seen, we hope to top it in 2012.”
It wouldn’t be a Show without the rides amusements, puppet show, animal nursery, drover’s camp and the Style Pavilion – not to mention the Bush Balladeer, Wheelwright, Saddle Making Display, Blacksmith, Vintage Car and Engine Displays, Woodturning and Spinning and Weaving. At the Camden Show there are a range of things to please all age groups.
